A trip to Lopenik our way: peace, hill and nice views

Today I made a nice trip to the Velky Lopenik lookout tower in the White Carpathians. No complicated planning – you just get in the car, drive and go.

Start like a champ – drive almost to the top

I drove to the Lopenicke saddle and parked at Chata Jana. Which is absolutely ideal, because you don't have to pedal down like crazy. From there I set off on the green trail towards the lookout tower.

It was uphill from the very beginning, but nothing terrible. Just enough that you sweat, but you still enjoy it.

People like on shift

I met quite a few people along the way. Not just the classic tourists, but also guys who ran up and down as if they were having some kind of race. Really cool, I was glad that I could make it out normally 😄

There were also families with children and a few couples. You go there along the so-called path of love, so it's as romantic as a rock. Ideal for a date or a relaxing trip.

Nature? Beautiful

I didn't see any animals, no deer or anything, but that didn't matter at all. The nature around was really beautiful. Forests, peace, fresh air - it will completely clear your head.

And the weather turned out to be perfect. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, just as it should be. A little cloudy at the top and the road down was a bit steep, but otherwise very nice.

Lookout tower - a reward at the end

When you get to the top, the lookout tower of Velky Lopenik awaits you. When you see it between the trees, you know that you'll be there in no time.

Do you climb to the top and the views? Are they worth it. You can see far and wide, both to the Czech side and to Slovakia. You can also see the Beskydy Mountains (Radhošť and Lysa hora). An ideal place to sit for a while, have a snack and just stare at the landscape.

How would I sum it up?

This trip is completely peaceful for everyone. No extreme exertion, but you will enjoy a beautiful day outdoors.

What was the best part?

that you can drive almost to the top

the atmosphere is full of people, but not crowded
and especially the views from the lookout tower

If you are looking for an undemanding trip where you can clear your head and walk a bit, then Lopenik is an obvious choice. I really recommend it 👍
